Last month the paper reported an incident involving San Antonio’s Playland Park.
Three local teens were caught trespassing there in February. When confronted by police they claimed they climbed the fence because they heard a child crying. When they investigated the park in search of the child, they say that all they could find were swings moving on their own, on a day with no wind. When one of the rides began to move on its own, despite the fact that the park has not had electricity in year, the teens ran from the scene and where then found by the police.
While police were never able to substantiate such claims, some local memebers of the community are clamoring for an investigation.
Early this week, one of the boys, 15 year old Jeff Landers was riding his bike in down a sidewalk when a cow jumped into his path. Startled, he swerved off the sidewalkk, and was hit by a large truck. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Upon further investigation, the truck and the cow were both owned by rancher Harley Owens. The cow had someone escaped the trailer, and Owens admits he was driving too fast, desperate to find the animal before it caused an accident.
Police are treating it as a freak accident, but some locals are convinced that it was too strange to be any sort of accident, and are pointing fingers to the teens recent run in with the paranormal. At this time, no investigation is being opened, however, the driver of the truck may be charged with reckless driving and manslaughter.

New State-of-the-Art Homeless Shelter to Open Downtown
Valerie Strong
Associated Press Writer
SAN ANTONIO- A new homeless shelter for downtown San Antonio has been proposed this week. The shelter will feature more than just new beds. This new shelter will not only provide the down and out with many of the comforts of home, but will also be classrooms and staffed with instructors to help with furthering education as well as job prospects, and will have a psychiatrist on site at all times for consultation.
The proposal is being reviewed now by the City Council and a decision should be reached soon. If they approve the proposal and its hefty price tag, we should expecting ground to be broken as early as next month.
Some people say that its too much, too expensive, and too nice. One disgruntled citizen was quoted as saying, “Government doesn’t pay for me to have a private shower. I work for that! They should just go out and get jobs!”
However, most are advocating for the change. “Its long over due. These are people too, and they deserve help.” says a local volunteer.

Elderly Woman Enters Condemned Building...Again?
Carlos Rodriguez
Associated Press Writer
SAN ANTONIO- In last month’s paper we reported a condemned building downtown in which exterminators found a pile of rotting corpses stored and where 2 young strapping men and an elderly lady were seen entering together.
When police arrived, they reported the building was sealed air tight and ruled it a hoax. Apparently, there may be truth to this seemingly obvious ruse. Just yesterday, the same elderly woman and one of the men from last month were seen entering the building with a beautiful effeminate man.
Witnesses report the elderly lady making several random hand gestures before going underneath the police tape and entering the building with the men, but they did not seem to be motions of distress.
Screams of horror and shock were heard just minutes after the individuals entered the building. Fearing for their lives, the witnesses hid and prepared for the worst.
The witnesses would later be relieved to see the elderly woman and men exit the building in a controlled and relaxed manner as if nothing had happened. The cops were again called to the condemned building but waited for members of the CDC to arrive before entering. The authorities on scene were shocked to be able to even enter the building (readers will remember from last months reporting that the building was sealed air tight by the CDC).
After entering, the local authorities only found dead and decaying corpses of animals and again closed the building.
Police are once again treating this as a hoax, even though they were able to easily enter the condemned building. Police assume a homeless individual had probably opened it to seek shelter from the pouring rain we’ve been receiving recently. The witnesses were not given public intoxication citations but were warned not to contact authorities again and waste their time.

MetAmb at Fault for Ailing Elderly?
Kate Rhinehart
Associated Press Writer
BEXAR COUNTY- Lawyers defending the Geriatric Hospital have introduced new evidence this week to the ongoing class action lawsuit filed a few months ago against the Hospital for the deaths of several elderly residents.
Metro Ambulance has been identified by a forensic epidemiologist as being an important vector in the spread of disease. MetroAmb had the contract for 19 of the 27 patients which contracted diseases late last year.
With this move, Geriatric Associates has effectively shifted the burden of proof from themselves back to the prosecution.
A MetroAmb representative was not available for comment at this time. One plaintiff was quoted as saying, “We don’t care who is to blame, we just want whoever is at fault to pay. We lost our loved ones, and nothing we can do will bring them back. We don’t want this to happen to anyone else.”

The Homeless Dilemma: Fear in the Streets
AJ Sanderson
San Antonio Gazette Culture and Life
BEXAR COUNTY- Since the height of the Recession, the nationwide homeless population swelled by 3%, a number that seems inconsequential, a trivial statistic. That trivial statistic represents over 20,000 Americans. Twenty Thousand. San Antonio, with a population of 2,072,128, counts among that number 3,222 homeless, and bears the admission that such a number is notoriously inaccurate; quite simply, a large majority of the homeless population avoid census data entirely, due to a perception of persecution from authority figures such as the SAPD. This perception, whether real or imagined, often extends to the church organizations and shelters that attempt to aid the homeless. According to one homeless man I interviewed, “They’re all part of the same system. That system put me here.” The man refused to provide a name, or allow a photo to be taken. “The police, the politicians, the church, they are all owned by the corporations, by the men in their high towers, those that corrupt the world with their will. None of you are free, and neither are we.” The current economic situation only makes the statistic more dire; as the rate of foreclosure in Texas rises (2011 saw a 4% rise), the homeless population swells accordingly. This next year, it is predicted that the homeless population could reach 3,500, the highest San Antonio has ever seen.
The social stigmata of homelessness is nothing new to our culture, but it is a disconcerting subject that is far too easily swept under the rug. These citizens, these fellow Americans, Texans, San Antonians, live in a state of near invisibility, exist in a sort of social vacuum where the eye of the general populace is blind to their presence. How many times have even the most socially conscious of us passed the woman pushing the shopping cart, and refused to acknowledge her presence, her very existence? At best, those of us fortunate enough to have a place to call home subconsciously think, “There But For The Grace of God Go I,” and quickly push the less-fortunate from our minds, so that we can hurry to our next meeting, or beat the rush to the Starbucks.
At worst, acts of violence are perpetrated, since the homeless can be seen as a target for anti-social behavior that carry little consequence. These attacks are rarely reported to the police, Without a point of contact, such as an address or phone number, many of the homeless have no recourse but to seek care at Emergency Rooms. Without any funds to spend on medical care, these people are often released prematurely in order to prevent skyrocketing costs being absorbed by the hospitals, or turned away entirely.
Susanne, a 29 year old former insurance saleswoman, lost her job to cutbacks in 2008, and her home in 2010. In January of 2011, Susanne was attacked by three men on the Riverwalk. She defended herself by breaking a bottle, cutting her hand in the process. The Emergency Room provided basic bandages, but without the ability to regularly clean and change the dressing, infection set in. Susanne’s right hand was amputated in April. Susanne retains a dark sense of humor about the entire incident, something I noticed was shared by other members of the homeless community. “Sure, I lost the hand, but it wasn’t too big a loss. Just makes holding the “Please Give” sign more difficult. And, of course, I can’t give the finger to cops anymore. So, there’s that.” Susanne laughs without smiling, and glances from side to side periodically, as if awaiting another attack. She does not tend to interact with many of the other homeless in the city, since, in her words, “I already got jumped by three psychos. I don’t need to hang out with them, too.”
The prevalence of mental illness among San Antonio’s homeless population is more than a joke. Nearly a full 30% of statistically counted homeless suffer from a severe mental illness, such as paranoid schizophrenia or manic depression, and, while medication is provided by shelters and charitable organizations, budget cuts in Federal and State programs make long term treatment a difficult prospect. “There just aren’t enough pills to go around,” said Jim McKinly, a resident doctor for the San Antonio State Hospital, “and there’s no way to keep these people on a set schedule of medication. We can hand out a bottle of pills, a 30 day supply, but it might be another three months before we see that person again. They may take the pills once every few days, to try and make them last. We usually see these kinds of patients only after a severe relapse, which undoes any sort of therapy or treatment we can offer. It’s like ice skating uphill.”
“You talk to any one of us, you take your life into your hands... or hand. I mean, I’ve got a knife in mine right now,” said Susanne. “It’s safer than a bottle, and it becomes habit. You get used to the paranoia.” Susanne’s fear is not unique. The nameless man said, “You think we’re crazy. You’re right. But we’re crazy because you made us that way, with your ads, your lies, your mind control. You ‘re part of a system that warps people, buys and sells them like property, enslaves their minds, makes them less than human. You’re turning us into the living dead.”
The danger is something that should not be overlooked. According to McKinly, “Nobody understands the risk. All the politicians are afraid of spending money, when they should be more afraid of a growing number of schizophrenics on the streets. The stories these people have are nothing short of horrifying; I’ve heard about angels that smile with a shark’s mouth full of teeth, androgynous or men with snake scales that clothe themselves in other people’s skin. They’re afraid of police, doctors, volunteers, tourists... they see monsters everywhere. They need help, and until ‘normal’ people get scared enough, they’re never going to get it.”

The Dying Hobby: Science
Cynthia Rouse
San Antonio Gazette Staff
Science seems like it’s becoming a dying hobby. The things that captivate children in young years and keep their attention is almost always science! Sadly, intelligent and worthwhile things like chemistry is fighting against overrated and useless television shows.
We choose to have a TV baby sit our children and rot their brains rather than spend quality time with them and actually learn something while having fun. Quality of life has gone down horribly, and we expect our school systems to make up for it. Not that I knock all teachers on this, since I know there are plenty of teachers who genuinely care for their students, and came into the system because they wanted to teach because they believe they are the first step to making a difference, and they are!
However, the system as a whole pulls down even the greatest of teachers, and that’s sad. Schools are not teaching kids as well as they should be as a WHOLE.
This isn’t about the Schools, this is about our personal lives and what we are doing with them. I remember growing up and being enriched by all the amazing things around me as a child. I remember my parents taking the time to show me unusual things I had never seen before, or showing me new tricks that were simple chemistry based reactions. The whole Mentos and Soda thing? Yeah, that’s chemistry! To a child it might be magic, even if you explain it to them. That is enrichment and encouragement to do things we’ve never done before.
But where has it all gone now? Out the door in this fast paced world. Actually, we should be the ones getting out the door more often!
I use Science as a blanket term in this article, because there are so many things that we do and think of that falls under this category and don’t even realize it. A lot of them give you physical exercise, test your knowledge and exercise your brain, slow you down and relieve stress, and even keep you entertained for hours on end. All the while, learning new things and rediscovering things forgotten.
This list includes many things, and I will even add items to those named that give you an idea! Geology, hiking, exploration and discovery, chemistry, Mentos and soda geysers, vinegar and baking soda volcanoes, biology, bird watching, animal interaction.
The list here is an example, but it can go on and on.
As I have said though before, it’s getting harder and harder to find all the old cool stuff you used to see in stores, readily available to pick up from growing prehistoric critters to cracking open your own geodes. Unfortunately, a lot of places have started downsizing their science areas that used to have really large sections you would take hours to wander through.
Thankfully, the one thing about the Net is the ability to find something, regardless of where it is located. So I did find some science, or science related stores online. Some of them have physical locations but sadly, not around where I am!
So if you’d really like to get back to Science, turn to the Internet. It’s there for you to find! I hope that maybe, just maybe, some lives become richer with knowledge, and more people decide to get out.

Black Swan Inn, Historical San Antonio Attraction, Closed for Renovations

San Antonio Gazette Staff
SAN ANTONIO - According to the Inn’s spokesman, the recently reported rat and bedbug issues have been resolved.
“The changing weather, the rain and the cold, caused the rats to look for someplace warm. Unfortunately for us, and our guests, the Black Swan is very old, and the insulation provided an ideal hiding place. The exterminators have been very effective, but, in order for us to provide the best experience for our customers, we are replacing the insulation with new, high-tech biofoam, and performing more renovations, such as adding Wi-Fi internet, a new AC system, and more. When we reopen, we will have the finest historical hotel experience available to residents and tourists. We thank you for your patience!” Further statements regarding the possible health code violations were not offered.
It is unknown if these continued shut downs are effecting the ability of the Inn to remain afloat in these tough economic times, but signs are positive that they will reopen soon.

Crime Rates Rise, Local Neighborhoods Work Together
Gary Wells
Associated Press Writer
SAN ANTONIO- In the past few weeks, crime has risen in certain neighborhoods, specifically auto theft. There is no clear indication as to whether the crime is gang-related or not, however it has sparked an interest in stepping up efforts concerning safety in affected neighborhoods.
In one unfortunate incident last night, a local family whose names are being withheld due to the nature of the crime, was devastated when the driver of a stolen car plowed into the family’s minivan, causing the two young children to be taken to the hospital and the father to die at the scene. Emergency responders stated they did everything they could to revive the man. Police responded to the scene and identified the vehicle, but were unable to locate the driver of the car which had been reported stolen less than 24 hours before the accident. According to the mother of the family, the driver of the car fled on foot after the impact. Police have been unable to identify the thief as of yet, but state that they are working diligently on the case.
“We are unable to give any information on the suspect at this time, but we do have evidence and we are working very hard to bring the perpetrator to justice,” Detective Joseph Martinez said. “We are taking this case very seriously. A family has been left without a father, and two young children are seriously injured. We are doing all that we can in order to give this grieving family some peace of mind.”
Since February, more fatalities have occurred due to violent crime has risen nearly fifteen percent in San Antonio, leading concerned citizens to band together and form neighborhood watch organizations. Many organization leaders are asking local law enforcement for assistance, to include more officers on patrol in neighborhoods and even cameras to monitor residential areas. One resident, who declined to be named in this interview, states, “Last week, my neighbor was the victim of a home invasion. They broke into her house in broad daylight, tied them up, beat up her husband, and stole everything that wasn’t nailed down. Now I won’t even let my grandson come over to the house. It just isn’t safe.”
In response, police have offered training seminars for the neighborhood watches that have sprouted up, offering information on everything from gun safety and self-defense to proper ways to keep your home safe. “We are trying to inform residents of even simple things that they may not have thought of, such as, when you purchase a new television or laptop, be sure not to put the box out for it in the trash until pickup day. Otherwise, passing criminals will look at that as an invitation to break in. If you have a garage, keep your cars inside and the garage door closed. Invest in a better alarm system that comes with a GPS tracker. If you have a gun, learn how to use it, learn to keep it properly maintained. If you see an unfamiliar person in a car you don’t recognize in your area, be alert. We don’t want to cause a panic, but we also want to keep our streets safe,” Police Chief William Mc- Manus said on Thursday. “If people can be more aware of their surroundings, we can help prevent these unfortunate accidents. We owe it to the citizens to be less afraid - that’s part of our mission statement, to reduce fear.” Only time will tell if this will be an effective end to this recent string of crimes plaguing San Antonio.

Does the Force Exist?

SAN ANTONIO- Earlier this week, twenty one year old Adam Smith was arrested for trespassing, battery, resisting arrest, assaulting police officers, and damaging city property. I’m sure you’re wondering how he did all that? Mr. Smith’s adventure started at the Walmart off of 410 and Jones Maltsberger. Adam Smith or should we say Sith Lord Smith purchased two red plastic light sabers around 4 P.M. He then proceeded to open the plastic toys and brandish them at Walmart security. Not threatened, the elderly veteran door greeter, politely asked him to leave. It is at this time that Sith Lord Adam became violent and angry that his power and mastery of the force was ignored. He then assaulted 65 year old Jesus Rodriguez with the plastic light sabers until fellow Walmart employees could assist in throwing the deranged “Sith Lord” out of the building. The police were called and Mr. Smith was told the police were on their way. The 21 year old deranged lunatic then began to rush an elderly couple outside of the store and attempted to thrash them with his light sabers. He had delivered two or three blows to the elderly man’s head when police arrived. Officer Lee and Officer Garcia immediately drew their tasers and ordered Mr. Smith to stand down. “Sith Lord Smith” then began screaming, “Come Jedi’s, I shall show you the dark side is stronger” before launching himself at the officers. Incredibly, the young “Sith Lord” was able to batter Officer Lee’s taser shot away from his body effortlessly. “Sith Lord Smith” then delivered a smash with his light saber butt to disable Officer Garcia’s taser.
The officers radioed for backup and the two officers attempted to grab the suspect and disarm him. Their efforts proved fruitless however until help arrived. As six more officers entered the fray, it was apparent to Adam Smith that the forces of good had aligned to stop his fiendish plans. According to cops he entered a meditative stance before rushing one of the new squad cars. Apparently, the “Sith Lord” was attempting to knock out the officers before they could exit the vehicle. The dark side was able to deliver a double slash to Officer Brown’s taser as he was pulling it from it’s sheath. The taser hit the ground and shattered. As our deranged shopper was preparing to thwack Officer Brown repeatedly about the head, Officer Howard was able to deliver a stunning blow from his own taser from behind. The Sith Lord immediately convulsed at the shock and dropped his weapons.
Police then tackled him to the pavement and cuffed him. He is being held without bail until police can determine he is of sound mind and not a further liability to the citizenry of our beloved San Antonio.
Once again I ask my readers to ponder how events like this could be anything but a sign that the end times are coming!

Violence Breaks out at Occupy Event, Police Officer Attacked at Local Protest
by Kate Rhinehart
Associated Press Writer
SAN ANTONIO - Violence broke out this week at what is left of the Occupy San Antonio movement. The movement has been dwindling over the last few months, but apparently there were still enough people participating to cause an incident.
The attack occurring on Wednesday evening, around 7:00 p.m. A police officer was attacked by a protester in a quick and shockingly violent burst of aggression. Witnesses say that the assailant, 25 year old Raul Octavio was acting odd, lurching around the grounds and looking generally distant and aggressive. Octavio was a regular at these events, and those who knew him said that he was generally a very friendly person with a streak for making minor trouble. He had a criminal record, but only for Criminal mischief. “He was really a nice guy, if a little impulsive. We were concerned when he showed up and wasn’t acting like himself. He tried to grab one of the other protestors, and that’s when the officer got involved.” Says Patty Valdez, a fellow occupier.
When Officer McMillan approached the young man, he lashed out and grabbed him by the neck. A knife appeared in his hand, and he attempted to stab the office in the throat, even going so far as to attempt to do so through his own hands. Unable to break the youths hold on him, the officer drew his weapon and fired on the young man, wounding him in the abdomen. Octavio then fled the scene, despite heavy bleeding. He was found dead 10 blocks away.
“I did what I had to do to protect myself. I’m no slacker, but this kid was amazingly strong. He was a big guy, but this was just.. I knew he wanted to kill me.” Officer McMillan said in an interview at the scene.
Though this is by far the worst incident of violence, it is this violence and general mindset of aggression and disrespect that motivated many of the Occupy San Antonio Movement to leave and start another, similar movement, Occupy Bexar.
SAPD is upholding Officer McMillan’s actions of lethal force, and he will not be under any investigation at this time.

New Drug on Streets
Police warn that this drug, “Lucid” is unsafe, but some pharmacists are unsure.

SAN ANTONIO - Small white pills bearing the name “Lucid” have been appearing in night clubs and bars all over the city. Though analysts have not yet concluded what the drug is made of, users are said to experience a euphoric state with mild hallucinations.
“We don’t know what the side of effects of this drug are yet,” said one SAPD officer, “but we can certainly say that drugs produced outside of a lab are not safe.”
While many lawmakers are struggling to write up legislature that will pass quickly to prohibit possession, use, and sale of Lucid, other San Antonians have different ideas for the drug. Laura Jimenez, spokesperson for a small pharmaceutical company named Redasco, says “Drugs manufactured outside of a controlled laboratory environment are dangerous, but Lucid has a few effects that Redasco would like to replicate. The drug is fast acting, and with no visible side-effects, it has potential as an oral sedative.” Redasco did not respond to questions about their progress in reproducing Lucid’s effects in their labs.
Regardless of the lack of side-effects, law enforcement is still warning people to avoid the drug. “Just because we haven’t seen any yet, does not mean this drug is safe. Many drugs have negative effects that don’t show themselves until there is a build up of the drug in the system, or even worse, small amounts of some drugs can cause terrible internal damage with little to no outward symptoms.” Detective Hansel of the Narcotics Division said in an interview last week.

String of Passionate Murders Finally Halts
by John Adams
Associated Press
As a reporter I usually try to stick to the facts presented. I can not help but notice something disturbing though.
Over the last eight days San Antonio has been witness to a series of murders of passionate circumstance. As previously reported, each of these crimes had an element of passion or revenge.
The first occurred on January 26th around 11pm at the Mix Night Club on N. St. Mary’s St. Jacob Mendez attacked and killed his friend Arthur Martinez with a broken beer bottle. Supposedly the fight started over a girl in the club with them who has yet to be identified. Jacob Martinez was taken into custody.
On January 27th around midnight local businessman Frank Evans was found at his office with his head smashed in. Jeff Capra, a top employee at Evans Images LLC attacked and killed his boss. Mr. Capra went into a rage after discovering that his with Claire was sleeping with his boss to “make sure he didn’t get fired in this terrible economy.”
The third crime of passion on the 28th around 1am. Sarah Spence came home to discover her best friend Laura Ingalls in bed with her live in boyfriend Philip Simpson. She ran into the kitchen, grabbed a large knife, and stabbed them both repeatedly.
The next night was no stranger to passionate murder either. As Jayce Jones was down on one knee proposing to Kelly Hall, he was shot twice in the back. The lovers were on a late night carriage ride downtown and unaware the Maria Lopez had been following them all evening. Ms. Lopez was the recent ex-girlfriend of Mr. Jones.
The fifth and sixth murders were particularly tragic since the list of dead included innocents. Jordan Johnson strangled to death Shaniqua Smith. Ms. Smith was pregnant and had threatened to reveal her state to Mr. Johnson’s wife. Methodist Hospital reported that a man was arrested after smothering his wife and her newborn just after he found out the child was not his.
In early hours of February 1st police and fire department were called to the home of Kerry Ivy. By they time they arrived the house was destroyed. Ms. Ivy was spotted fleeing the scene by a neighbor. Unfortunately, Mr. Ivy, and an identified woman, thought to be his mistress, were unable to escape the blaze.
The most recent event were the deaths of Mr. Keith Miller and his secretary Kristina Rand. Fay Miller, Keith Miller’s wife, came to the office to surprise her husband. The surprise was on her as she walked in on Keith and Kristina having sex on his desk. A witness heard Mrs. Miller “scream like a banshee,” as she rushed towards the couple on the desk. Her full throttle run gave the small-framed woman enough force to shove both Kristina Rand and Keith Miller through the tenth floor window and to their deaths below. Fay Miller is still at large since she ran past the witness screaming and disappeared through the stairway door.
There have been no murders since February 1st with such vengeance as a theme. San Antonio has always been a city full of love and known for its many romantic venues. It is a shame when the most beautiful of emotions can be turned to so permanent an end. This reporter hopes that whatever was “in the air” has taken its course and moved on. Valentine’s Day approaches so perhaps the citizens of this fine city can once again offer each other the traditional roses and chocolate covered strawberries to express their passion instead.

For Those Of Us Who Don’t Know Exactly WTF We’re Doing!
by Cynthia Rouse
Associated Press Writer
Who among us know, exactly what we want to do with our lives, and career?
A few of you do, good for you!
Don’t worry for the rest of you, I’m sure there is a large number of us, who still aren’t sure, what the fuck we want to do job wise, or what we want to do with the rest of our lives.
I’m one of you. I’m approaching 28 years of age this year, and I still don’t know what I want to do for a living. I’m not going to use my ADHD as an excuse to- Okay, yes I am. I can’t think past a couple months at this rate, and setting long term goals are agonizingly painful, but that doesn’t me I don’t see myself enjoying things later in life, even career wise.
I had a lot of friends in high school who already know what they wanted to do for a living and personal set goals. Whether it be Mechanics or Biologists, Home Owners or Business Owners, they were set and knew when they left high school what to study. Argh, I hated school, and college wasn’t for me, neither is a desk job, or owning a house.
When I stop to think about it though, it’s not what I want to do for a living that drives me as so much as the things I want in life. Okay, so I don’t know what kind of job I wanted, but I knew what I wanted out of life, and a career wasn’t the main focus. Hell I can even tell you what I DON’T want from a job!
I realized that some people think differently, I’m one of them, regardless of my reasoning’s. I’m floating down that same life boat with a bunch of other clueless people... Or are we?
If we know what we don’t want in life, and work, does that mean we still have an idea of what we want to do? I don’t know, but I think it gives us a general direction in life, even if it’s not completely clear. I guess we could be utterly clueless and shit-outof- luck.
I just want people to know, if you’re in the same damn boat as me, you’re sure as hell not alone!
Though I can honestly admit, I’m very driven by the things I want in life, minus the career goal part. I still want a car, a nice place, and the ability to take vacations to places I want to visit (Oh shit, a real vacation!?). How I see it, I only spend 40 hours out of the week doing something I don’t like (But I actually like what I am doing now, just so you know). The rest of the week is mine to do as I please with!
So sure, I work to get the cash to do the things I want. I just happen to luck out, I don’t mind doing what I do, job wise. For once, I get vacation time and a decent paycheck to do things, so I’m not complaining too much on that part (I’m sure some of you are not as happy).
What is this really about? Hey, don’t worry if you don’t know what you want to do for the next, god only knows how long your ass is gonna be around, but if you have an idea of what you don’t want, I think you’re still on a really good track here.
I’m saying, on this subject of “What do you want to do in life?”, I think you can still approach it with the opposite terms of “What do you not want in life?” They’re still really good ladders. By going by what you don’t want, helps you get an idea of what you do want.
Knowing what I didn’t want in a job, got me to where I knew what I wanted from it, even if I didn’t care as much about. So the same thing worked with the, “what do I not want in life.” So really in the end, for those of us who don’t know what the hell we’re doing...do we really have a good idea of what we are?
And for those of you wondering, “Why the fuck does this subject bounce all over the place!?” You can thank my ADHD for that, don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Historical Sites- Are we losing pieces of San Antonio?
Recently, several of San Antonio’s historical sites have been defaced, defiled, and have fallen into general disrepair. Unfortunately, this month we see yet another site fall prey to the ravages of time. The Red Berry Mansion has recently shut its doors, canceling appointments on dozens of weddings, due to issues with its foundation. Late Saturday the 21st of January, the East Wing of the Mansion became detached from the rest of the building when a sink hole opened up beneath it. Apparently, the tunnels that were installed during Prohibition for smuggling illegal contraband have caused structural issues with the building.
Much to the dismay of the residents of San Antonio, the owner is considering leveling the mansion on putting a new building in its place, to save on the money it would take to repair the faulty foundation.
Understandably, the San Antonio Historical Society is outraged and threatening lawsuit against the owner if he does go through with his plans to raise the historic San Antonio landmark. The owner was not available for comment.
In a similar vein, the Black Swan Inn is once against closed to guests. This time, at least, not at the hands of hooligans. The Inn reported has a rat and bed bug infestation.
Bed bugs have been becoming a serious problem in San Antonio, as people do not realize when their belongings are home to the creatures, and unwitting introduce them into apartments, hotel rooms, and apparently haunted historical sites as well. There is no word on how long it will take the owners to clear the vermin from the Inn.
And while both these stories are tragic, the last site just happens to be a bit strange. While not really considered a historical landmark, most residents of San Antonio immediately recognize the old Playland Park Amusement park located on N. Alamo. It has been closed for some time, but recently there have been reports that it may in fact be haunted, adding one more location to the scoreboard which proves San Antonio is in fact the most haunted city in the United States.
Three local teens were caught trespassing there last Thursday.
While there is no way to verify their claims, it has stirred up a rash of ghost hunters investigating the site. Police have been called to chase off trespassers almost every night this week.
Places like the Red Berry Mansion, the Black Swan Inn, and now, Playland Park, are unique sites that San Antonio has made its own. It would be a blow to the cultural identify of this city were any of these notable locations removed from our landscape.
Police and Prison Still Not Shaping Up - February Off to Bad Start
by Anthony Ibarra
San Antonio Gazette Staff
SAN ANTONIO - After the debacle that was the police’s response to the chaos that occurred last month, citizens of San Antonio expected them to up their game.
Unfortunately, this month seems as though it might become worse than the last.
The scrutiny under which SAPD has been operating lately has yet to improve their performance.
A crew of 6 police investigators combed over a new local art gallery just after sun up, Sunday morning. Their warrant, the owner said, was to search the area for blood. The investigators could not be found for comment, and when SAPD was contacted, they knew nothing of the incident, claiming that the investigators had not been a part of the police force. The owner is unaware whether or not any blood was found on the premises or if it was just a pretense for the imposters to conduct an illegal search for something else. Witnesses claim that the crew had what looked like official SAPD uniforms and badges, which begs the question - why can’t SAPD hold on to their stuff? Why was it so easy for these people to impersonate officers?
On the heels of that disturbing occurrence, there was another theft from the police this week. Two armored SUVs were stolen from the Police fleet building on Frio street. 6 people involved, dressed in black gear, wielding automatic weapons. It is unknown if these were the same six who claimed to be police officers searching the art gallery for blood.
And finally, on the heels of the prison escape that occurred last month, our detention centers are also falling apart, another link of the justice chain shattering.
The prison warden was assaulted in his home by masked gentleman this week. “The Gent” as he’s being called by guards at the prison, was found with Warden partially dressed, and hand cuffed in his home. The warden has declined comment, and his wife is moving out, lending credence to the theory that there was no assault at all, only another scandal for the people of San Antonio to deal with.
With all of the incompetence show by the justice system lately, citizens are starting to wonder whether they really can trust the justice system in the city of San Antonio, and how long it will take to completely collapse.

Elderly Woman Enters Condemned Building with Two Young Strapping Lads
by Carlos Rodriguez
Associated Press Writer
SAN ANTONIO - Recently, we reported a condemned building downtown that exterminators found a pile of rotting corpses stored in. Investigators closed the building to the public after the local health department determined it was rife with disease and unhealthy gases and bacteria from the bodies. However, police are reporting that an anonymous witness called in a tip to police that an elderly woman and 2 young men in there early 20’s were seen entering the building together. The witness thought it was extremely disturbing not only that someone would enter a building quarantined by health officials but that it would be an elderly woman and two young men is even more disturbing. The anonymous witness said a third man inquired about the elderly lady and the two men and then went inside himself. No gun shots or other violence was reported in the area when local SAPD officers arrived on scene. The officers could find no witnesses or people in the area. They attempted to enter the building, but it was completely sealed. When health officials arrived on the scene to assist local officers they said it was if the building had been sealed air tight. They said there was no way anyone entered the building. Police have written off the call as a prank.

Unusual Death in Usually Quiet Neighborhood

BEXAR COUNTY- Henry King, husband of Lora King, was found dead early Thursday morning. He was discovered by his wife just before sunrise. Mr. King was lying on the floor in his study. He was not breathing and apparently had been bleeding heavily from his ears. There has been much speculation as to the cause of death. One theory is that Mr. King actually suffered from Autoimmune Inner Ear Disease (or AIED), although there has been no confirmation. The last days leading up to his death were numbered by many visits to a Dr. Samuel Kane who is tenured at the Texas Center for Infectious Disease here in San Antonio. Mrs. King immediately called 911, and the quiet neighborhood they reside in has not been the same since. Shortly after the ambulance arrived so did three unmarked white vans. An area including the houses directly on either side of the King residence was cordoned off. Five people in full hazmat suits entered the residence shortly after arrival. Mrs. King, as well as the body of Mr. King, were loaded into the vans and taken away.
The police have not released any statements at this time.

Newly Widowed Mother Attacked in Home Invasion

BEXAR COUNTY- Earlier this week, Susan Gates had to bury her husband who died at the young age of twenty overseas in Afghanistan while serving in the Army. The following day, Susan was approached by Bob Johnson. Bob pretended to be very good friends with her late husband and requested to come inside and talk with her about him. Susan remembers something being off about the man. She politely declined the man’s invitation and asked him to leave her property. Later that night, after convincing his friend David Ramirez to accompany him, the man tried to force his way into Susan’s home off of Highway 90. He was wielding a knife and was attempting to force his way into the house. Luckily, Susan had been well trained by her late husband and had all of the windows and doors locked tight. She called 911 and was on the line for 23 minutes before local state troopers would arrive to help. While she was on hold, she calmly took her 4 month old son to her bedroom and laid him in his crib. She then grabbed her late husband’s 12 gauge shotgun from the closet and asked 911 operator Judy if it was okay to shoot and kill the men if they forced their way into the house. Judy told Susan, “I can’t tell you it’s okay to shoot those men, but you do what you have do to protect yourself and child.” After several minutes of breaking down the front door, Bob and David gained entry to the house and found Susan locked in her bedroom.
They were able to force open the bedroom door. Susan stated that, “Those men were breaking down my bedroom door and all I could think about was protecting my son. I took a defensive stance in front of his crib and aimed the shotgun towards the door. It was ripped off it’s hinges and the man the police call David was first one through. I shot him in the chest and he collapsed. The original man who tried to get me to let him in then fled my house. I stayed in my room just in case until police arrived.” Police would arrive about 5 minutes later. The sheriff’s department apologized for the long response time, but apparently Susan’s house is well away from main roads and takes some time to access.
Police are calling the shooting justified. “You’re allowed to shoot an unauthorized person that is in your home. The law provides you the remedy, and sanctions the use of deadly force, “ Det. Dan Huff of the Texas State Troopers said. Bob Johnson later turned himself in to a local SAPD station.
Ms. Gates said, “I wouldn’t have done it, but it was my son. It’s not an easy decision to make, but it was either going to be him or my son. It wasn’t going to by my son. There’s nothing more dangerous then a woman with a child, its like a mother bear and her cub.”
I was deeply disturbed to hear something like this could happen in my beloved San Antonio. Detective Dan Huff told me that San Antonio was the number one city in the nation for violent break ins and that they are increasing each month. I beg people to be careful and keep their doors locked tight! With the end times so near, only more danger and bloodshed is certain!

Rabies Outbreak at Local Animal Shelter
No-Kill Shelter Forced to Euthanize Over 40 Animals

BEXAR- This week tragedy struck on the northeast side.
An animal shelter is without any animals. Paws of Hope No-Kill rescue facility was forced to put down all the animals, save 2, within its walls. It was extreme circumstances that forced the small shelter to make such a difficult decision. Late afternoon on Tuesday, a vet tech was in one of the kennels refilling water bowls when a larger dog attacked her. The dog, a saint bernard, was known to have an extremely loving and gentle personality until the attack. The vet tech suffered only minor injuries, but in the following days, all the dogs began to show very aggressive tendencies. On Thursday morning, many began to froth at the mouth.
Thursday afternoon, the shelter put the dogs down. 42 dogs showed signs of infection and were euthanized.
The shelter owners are devastated, and utterly baffled as to how the rabies was contracted by the dogs. Two animals were spared, but remain under close supervision and quarantine until it can be verified that they are disease free. They have been symptom free for over two weeks now, and the shelter owners are praying that these two dogs remain to be a ray of hope in an otherwise horrific tragedy.
The shelter did not comment on if they would reopen their doors at this time.

Condemned Building Acknowledged as Health Hazard: City Unable to Move

The Montoya Apartments, an abandoned low-rent housing project near the downtown area, has been officially sealed off according to CDC guidelines after the decaying corpses of several animals and three unidentified humans were found inside.
The police have released the following statement: “Our findings at this time indicate that the loss of human life was likely due to drug abuse and exposure, rather than homicide. The evidence, however, has been contaminated in what is essentially a separate environment created by criminally negligent maintenance. The feral animals that now inhabit the building, while scavengers, exhibit strong pack behavior, and are completely unafraid of humans. Animal control will clear out the building, and demolition will commence as soon as our investigation is complete.”
The police were unable to give a time frame on how long the investigation into the deaths would take; Animal Control and the SA CDC refused comment. Until these offices can coordinate, it is likely that the building will stand for a month, perhaps more.
People who live and work in the area are worried about the possible health risks posed by a building full of decaying flesh, as well they should be. While the CDC has sealed off the building, locals are still skeptical that they are actually safe. Several business, including a butcher’s shop across the street, have decided to close up temporarily, instead of risk exposure to whatever sort of pathogens might be growing in the building, despite the CDC’s assurances that such a measure is unnecessary.
Mr. Tom Jenkis was quoted saying, “Who would want to buy meat from a store across the street from that, anyway? If this doesn’t get cleared up soon, I might have to permanently relocate.”

Promising Sweets Manufacturer Folds

Owner Found Dead in Piles of Product

SAN ANTONIO - A very promising new business folded this month after suffering from either a targeted attack, or the worst case of bad luck ever seen. Sweet Stuff Incorporated, a company founded by eccentric entrepreneur Lawrence Brusco, suffered devastating losses in the month of December when a series of events crippled their ability to do business in San Antonio.
The company suffered from not one, not even two, but four separate cases of what even a well established business would call a nightmare. The issues began as minor, and quickly escalated. There was a shooting at a local HEB distribution plant. It may have been considered entirely unconnected has a factory supply Sweet Stuff Inc’s new revolutionary artificial sweetener not also been destroyed later that evening. SWAT was called out to the area, and the building was leveled by a large explosion. There were several guards
found dead inside.
Bad enough, but later that evening the company suffered a gruesome break in. Critical
files were stolen from an office, and a secretary brutally murdered in the process. SWAT
was not able to apprehend any suspects.
The death blow came the next morning when the company was informed that its license
to practice business in the Greater San Antonio area had been revoked, due to problems found with the product. Sweet Stuff Incorporated filed for bankruptcy later that week.
Unfortunately, like most of these stories, this one quickly turns from sad to utterly tragic. Lawrence Brisco’s family came from oil money, but Mr. Brisco was always considered the black sheep. Mr. Brisco had come to San Antonio to make his own way in the world and seemed to have struck a new kind of gold when he discovered the revolutionary new sweetener. His company exploded overnight, and the sweetener was rolled out in hundreds of products across the city. But when all the sweetener had to be recalled, and business were insisting on refunds, Mr. Brisco had neither the money, nor the fortitude to overcome
his colossal failure.
He disappeared for three days. Family and friends were hectic, as his mental state had been far from sound before his disappearance. On Tuesday the 27th, he was found dead in a huge mound of the recalled artificial
sweetener. He had apparently been there the whole time, buried under the product. He drowned
in his own failure.
There is no evidence of foul play in the death of the man, as he was known to be very eccentric.
Sources say that its believed that he intentionally suffocated himself with the powered product
sometime late Christmas Day. The family is refusing further comment.
Violence Rises in SA
Gangs and mystery cults- SAPD under suspicion of cover up operation
Flames engulf a factory Satuday night. several guards were found dead inside the blaze

SAN ANTONIO - Violence has skyrocketed in the month of December, to rather alarming levels. Citizens
are frightened to leave their homes, and even businesses are not immune to the havoc that the encroaching gangs and alleged cults are playing on the city.
11 bodies were found gunned down early Sunday, the 4th. Police reports indicate that all the victims were gang members, and that no bystanders were injured. It is unknown at this time who took down all 11 members, or what the motive may have been, but the police are writing it off as a turf dispute. Local members of the community are accusing police of ignoring the facts, insisting the gang was on their home turf, and that the police were dismissing important warning signs.
Accusations of police incompetency came raging back to the forefront of the public mind when more violence erupted on Saturday, December 17th.
Local businesses were targeted this time, in an attack that almost seemed in line with terrorism. SWAT was called out to several different locations over the course of the night and people
encouraged not to leave their homes.
There was a shooting at both a HEB distribution center and a local vegan restaurant, a break in at a local office building where important files were stolen and one woman was brutally
murdered, raped with office supplies, and partially eaten, and finally, a factory building was completely destroyed and
all the guards killed when someone tampered with a gas main. In all of the death and destruction, not one suspect has been arrested, and there is reportedly almost no available evidence.
SAPD has issued a statement stating the violence was caused by
a doomsday cult operations out of a small town in the south.
People are beginning to fear for their safety, and are reticent to leave their homes. Critics are calling foul on the San Antonio Police Department, with arguments that not all these crimes fit the MO of a gang or a cult- even one as violent as the Mexican Mafia, or as unhinged as a doomsday group. Even the most conservative
members of the community are beginning to believe the cover up
conspiracy, and are questioning who the SAPD are really trying to protect and serve, the people of San Antonio, or the criminals?
A cover up is, however, unlikely. People just don’t want to be afraid, and this new cult is terrifying with the damage and mayhem they have already caused. But without public opinion on their side, the SAPD may not be equipped to handle the new threat, and more lives may be lost in the coming weeks.

Conspiracy Theorists Cry "Aliens!"
Strange lights cause local conspiracy theorists to cry aliens! (V)

A colorful burst of light in the night sky over Comanche Hill, akin to the Aurora Borealis, was reported early Sunday morning. Meteorologists responded by noting that, with the increase in humidity, lightning storms can mimic the appearance of magnetic storms, and that the phenomenon is most assuredly not due to alien activity.
This has not, however, discouraged locals from setting up telescopes to catch another “alien sighting”.

Black Swan Inn Reopens

Damage caused by recent gang violence repaired (V)
By: Jim Smith
The Black Swan Inn has completed renovations, and is reopening at the end of this week.
The famous inn was shut down recently after gang violence erupted one weekend. Sources say that a group of ghost hunters, in town for the convention, ran afoul of a local gang while investigating the Inn.
The Black Swan Inn is one of San Antonio’s many famous haunted places. It was built in 1867 on the site of the Battle of Salado, only 25 years after the battle took place. While the battle had relatively few casualties, as go (60), it is one of several reasons people say the Inn is haunted today. There are also legends and rumors that there is an Indian burial ground on the property, as the land was once home to the Coahuiltecan tribe.
Reported ghost sights have been frequent. The former owner has seen a man standing at the foot of her bed, a man working underneath the house reported children poking him with sticks and laughing, dolls in a room had been rearranged and left out as if they had been played with and a visitor reported a “creepy looking” man standing outside her second story window.
Rumors among the contractors hired to rebuild the walls talk of strange whispered conversations in other rooms, and laughter after the sun goes down. Aside from the workers, the rooms have remained empty for the duration of the remodeling.
Police Lose Arrest Records
By Associated Writing Staff
Criminals, vagrants, and over-zealous partiers lucked out on Saturday, November 19th.
Police were forced to release all those who had been arrested that evening after their records went missing. As there was no longer any documentation for those who were languishing away in the cells, the supposed law breakers walked free, with the exception of those who were still noticeably intoxicated.
Sources say that among those who went free were individuals suspected of armed robbery, sexual assault, and murder.
Police are remaining tight lipped about the situation, and insist that no one is to blame. It is unknown at this time if the loss of arrest records was caused by human error, a computer glitch, or intentional tampering.
Authorities say that those who had been arrested for serious crimes would be monitored or re-arrested, if they had not already fled the area.

Local Farmers Missing Cattle
Artist rendition of “zombie cow”
Witnesses claim undead cows are wandering the hill country
By Associated Writing Staff
BEXAR — Something is spooking the farmers in the hill country. "I'll tell you what we got out here, if frickin' walking dead cows! That's what!". Yes, it appears farmers just outside of Bexar county claim that at night the fields are host to "zombie cattle" — Undead cows shambling through the night, attacking anything in their paths.
Even with the long list of supposed supernatural creature and ghost stories in San Antonio, this is new phenomena. Some say it's a prank or better yet, the machinations of the recent ghost hunter convention that occurred Downtown. It is important to notes that the first story occurred on the night of the convention itself with Poughkeepsie native Eugene Fineberg, in for the convention as well, claiming to have captured one of the beasts only to embarrass himself by revealing a mess of slaughterhouse guts and viscera spilling from his truck. Regardless of the obvious hoax, the story persists with residents surround the area where Fineberg claims to have herded the animal. "People are gullible inbred misfits in that neighborhood." says area Sheriffs deputy Dean Kowalski. "I'm often called out there to catch Chupacabra, so you know you’re dealing with a brain trust.”
When asked if he was concerned what residents would think upon reading his quote he replied "You think they read?".
Mr. Fineberg could not be reached for comment before the deadline for this report.
San Antonio: Texas’ Next Big City

San Antonio is a rising star in Texas after a history of being overlooked
By Scott McGrath
SAN ANTONIO GAZETTE WRITER
What comes to mind when someone mentions Texas?
Often, people think of cattle, the old west, Dallas, Austin, and even Houston. All of these are iconic in the great if somewhat short history of Texas.
Texas was and continues to be a large contributor to the cattle industry in everything from food, leather, and even blood and genetic material for scientific testing and education.
Dallas had its own television show, multiple major sports teams, and big oil money.
Austin the weird city often people forget she is the capital of this great nation state. It also sits a major center for education and artistic creativity with a font of youthful energy that is regularly tapped for new ideas and inspiration pumping new life into old and tired ideas.
Houston is a scientific wonderland! With the phrase “Houston, we have a problem” she is forever etched into the psyche of this land. She also boast her multiple sporting teams and centers of scientific research excellence a place where one can truly succeed and climb the ladder with their own merit.
Often when people think of San Antonio it is in passing or when the Spurs have snatched away another victory over their favorite basketballs team.
However, when you peel away the layers, San Antonio has a deep and dark secret.
It is one of the best little big cities in Texas. Many people ask why she is over looked and it’s a fair question. We have a major sports team that, in the past years, has won five national championships.
Not into sports? What about education? The city has multiple colleges each with multiple special areas of study. That, along with a comparatively low cost of living, one would expect the city to have grown by leaps and bounds.
Education is not your thing, okay how about medicine? BAMC is the premier medical center noted for more than a dozen specialized fields of medicine from burns to traumatic brain injury to prosthetic limbs and even ears; BAMC is your one stop shop.
Another major point for San Antonio is historical sites. You have, to name a few, the Alamo, the mission trail, any number of haunted streets and locals, the Spanish Governor’s Palace, The Rose Gardens, and the King William District.
For entertainment, you have the Riverwalk, two major theme parks, Ripley’s Believe it or not, The Majestic Theatre, the Ultimate Mirror Maze, Enchanted Springs Ranch, and the seasonal Rodeo. There are just too many to name.
The flux and flow of people in and out of San Antonio is incredible. San Antonio sits on I10 which connects coast to coast which allows tourist and traffic to pass through without much difficulty.
But San Antonio also has her dark side, drugs, gangs, and the homeless; like any major city.. On any given day if you need smack or blow, a hooker or just a guy who knows a guy all you have to do is walk down to your local Kwik-E mart and wait 20 minutes and they will find you.
Need something harder or bigger? It might take time but I have heard stories of people buying assault rifles with "custom modification's" as art pieces.
But the bad doesn’t outweigh the good? With all that this wonderful city has to offer one has to question why it is so often over looked. When the real-estate market took a hit San Antonio remained fairly stable. When NFL teams go shopping for new homes they ignore San Antonio, the same is true of major industry. The real question is why? Do the city officials not make deals and offers trying to attract new growth? Do other cities simply have more to offer? Does San Antonio not have the population to support another Major sports team? Does San Antonio not have the traffic and transport infrastructure to move large amounts of Cargo? Or is there some other unknown group or factors that have an interest in keeping others out of San Antonio?
While this writer can’t answer these questions, I do feel they bear a second look. Is it time to “clean house” politically? Do we need to take San Antonio back for ourselves and show the world what we have to offer?
Is it time for San Antonio to step out of the shadows and into the spotlight to be the sunny star she is? Most assuredly!
So take heart San Antonio! Take charge San Antonio! Take off to the future San Antonio!

No Big Cats Escaped Say Local Police (V)
By Tammy Kendall
San Antonio Gazette STAFF WRITER
BEXAR COUNTY- Bexar County deputies are saying false alarm after investigating a report of loose tigers in north Bexar County that prompted the lockdown of a nearby elementary school.
Deputy Chief Dale Bennett said three tigers were reported loose at a home in the 27000 block of O'Kent drive around 7:05 a.m. He said the homeowner does own large exotic cats, but that all three cats were found inside their cages when deputies arrived. There was one empty cage, but authorities were assured it was only used as a back-up, and was not regularly home to any of the cats.
The property is registered as SA Zooworld. The owner has reportedly worked with wild animals for 40 years and has rescued a number lions, tigers, leopards and mountain lions. According to the sheriff's department, he is only permitted to have three large cats on the property.
The sheriff's office was alerted after the owner called a friend, saying he needed help, that the cats were lose. Fearing for his friends safety, deputies said that person then called authorities.San Antonio Zoo officials said they sent three workers -- a member of their shoot team, a veterinarian and a member of their living collections department -- after the sheriff's office contacted them for help in recapturing the tigers. Nearby Timberwood Park Elementary School, of the Comal ISD, was locked down Tuesday morning per the request of the sheriff's office.
Sgt. Valentine Saucedo said deputies thoroughly searched the property but found nothing.
"We've pretty much concluded our search as far as we've determined," he said. "We've gone all over the whole property. We've walked it. We've driven and we've driven around it. We've gone looking, checking in all the trees to make sure they didn't climb up there."
Deputies said the owner of the cats appeared confused.
Late Tuesday Bexar County authorities were back out at the home after saying they received a second call from the owner.
They will be conducting an evaluation on the man before closing the books on this case.
After the second false alarm, he suggested that he became alarmed when he saw the outline of a stuffed bobcat in the dark that he keeps mounted in his living room, and became convinced his cats had escaped.
Despite being assured that all the animals were indeed accounted for, reports of a large bengal tiger heading towards interstate 35 were called in by several anonymous sources.

Homicide in Castroville (V)
Teen found butchered in abandoned condominium

CASTROVILLE — Police were called to a Castroville condominium, slated to be renovated and resold, after the realtor reported a "horrible stench."
Upon entering the unit, the patrolmen called in a forensics team. The scene was, according to the realtor, " a slaughterhouse."
The remains that were discovered had apparently been butchered by someone with a knowledge of human anatomy, and had been stored in a closet with blocks of dry ice to slow decomposition.

Police have yet to officially release an identity for the victim or a possible description of the suspect, but among the evidence found was a Medina Valley High School Class Ring.
Police are not, at this time, looking at the possibility of a serial killer. However, according to some experts, this gruesome murder has many of the earmarks of a mass killer in the making.
Residents of Castroville were stunned, and police are working diligently to find the person responsible.
Due to the state that the body was in and the huge amounts of recent disappearances in the San Antonio and surrounding areas, identification of the victim might take some time. Meanwhile, many families are left without comfort, as they pray that the butchered remains are not one of their missing loved ones.
If you have any information about this murder, or if you have witnessed suspicious activity in the Castroville area, please contact Crime Stoppers, at 555-555-5434.
